Die Blauwbrug ( deutsch Blaubrücke) ist eine Brücke über den Fluss Amstel in Amsterdam. Sie verbindet die aus westlicher Richtung kommende Amstelstraat mit dem Waterlooplein. Die bereits dritte Brücke an dieser Stelle verdankt ihren Namen einem Vorgängerbau, dessen Holzteile mit blauer Farbe lackiert waren. Geschichte

Omschrijving Monumentale vaste plaatbrug met drie doorvaarten. Verzwaarde landhoofden van baksteen en natuursteen, op de uiteinden voorzien van natuurstenen pylonen. Men maakte gebruik van blauwe kalksteen. De vaasbalustrade werd uitgevoerd in gepolijste witte kalksteen.

The Blauwburgwal (literally: Dutch: blue fortress wall) is a canal in Amsterdam between the Singel (at Lijnbaanssteeg) and the Herengracht (at Herenstraat). Toen bij de uitleg een nieuwe Lijnbaansgracht ontstond, werd de naam veranderd in Blauwburgwal naar de Blauwe Brug, thans Lijnbaansbrug (over het Singel) geheten. Op 11 mei 1940 werd een deel van de Blauwburgwal (hoek Herengracht) door een Duits bombardement verwoest. Hierbij werden veertien panden verwoest en vielen 44 doden en 79 gewonden.
